There's a use for that!

Tisk, tisk
I'm horrible at blogging but I've got to get better at it. Maybe if I could build a fan base then that would be motivation. I've been crafting like it's going out of style to prepare for a craft show yesterday and today I decided to take a break. It wasn't fun having to work so hard. It was becoming a habit and not a hobby anymore. Has that ever happened to you? Hopefully a day off will make me get back to my love for crafting tomorrow.

My craft room looks like a bomb went off in there. Mainly for the reason being that I have stopped throwing things out. Of course I still throw out garbage like banana peels, dirty Kleenex, and so on but I have started rooting through my closet to find those old belts that are ripped and should have been tossed ages ago. Belts are only the beginning to salvaging those items who have another purpose in life. I had a green purse that I really loved. It had rips in it and the zipper always got stuck but I couldn't throw it away. I finally had a long talk with it and myself (no worries; I, nor the purse did any talking back) and said it was time to end the days being a purse BUT I would reuse some pieces for a new creation. I carefully took off the leather handle and cut it to the length needed to make a bracelet. I used my bead reamer to puncture one hole in each end and then took a Cufflink that I had bought from Michaels and used that as the closure. I took a cute brown and pink polka dot square and attached it to the top of the Cufflink. Using Modpodge that adds dimension I covered the square and let it dry. When it was done it left a clear, shiny appearance. So, think twice before you throw out that old purse or tank top. It could be a new bracelet or a cute new bag.
Happy crafting!
